Music
Henry Stanislaw & Gero KiepeHenry has played the drums from the age of 11 and has been in love with music ever since he tapped out four on the floor on his kick drum. Before arriving at St Andrews, Henry played in multiple Jam bands and helped start his high school’s percussion ensemble. During these years Henry's sister, who was enrolled at St Andrews, began passing along the electro tracks flooding house parties along Hope St at that time. These tracks immediately caught Henry's full attention and inspired his pursuits in DJ'ing.
Gero found his passion for electronic music at the age of 14, when he and his friend Julian first attended the Funky Chicken Club, Cologne. Influenced by DJs such as Disco Gessner, who mixed original disco vinyls with contemporary house tracks at these nights, Gero quickly bought his first set of decks and began collecting 12” house tracks. After collecting a catalogue of LPs including artists such as Cassius, Demon, Daft Punk, Cerrone and Rinocerose, Gero started his first party series, The Boozy Club.
In the fall of 2010, after discovering their similar taste for music, Gero and Henry began a partnership that would form the greatly successful and infamous St Andrews minimood parties. Recently renamed the moodroom collective, the party series’ success has led the duo to play at the Masquerade Ball, Feel Good, the St Andrews May Ball 2011, the St Andrews Graduation Ball 2011, and invitations to play club nights as far reaching as the Phoenix Landing, Boston, MA, and Villanova, PA’s FIJI nights.
